Sub-Branches

What It Is

A world inhabited by anthropomorphic bunnies and dragon-fairies. Long ago, bunnies wielded natural expansion magic ("Embiggening") stored in tail-orbs called Shells. Over time many bunnies became "docile" and forgot. Dragon-fairies developed tools (Pafu-Pafu Hammers) to mimic what bunnies could do naturally. Current crisis: a rogue fairy named Big is forcibly reawakening dormant bunny powers, often by inflating docile bunnies until they burst.

Bubblerap Phantasy is designed to stand alone. It shares the HOLLOWROUND parent framework but doesn't depend on it.

Species

The Nine Realms (Zones)

  1. Bloonburrow — original bunny homeland, traditional power center
  2. Globohaven — major fairy-dragon settlement and cultural hub
  3. BUSN — cross-zone commercial big-box distributor; bunnysuits and Pafu-Pafu Hammers sold, fitted, registered here
  4. THRUSN — industrial/commercial zone, manufacturing
  5. Nowarren — abandoned/restricted bunny territory; forbidden zones
  6. Summerfield — agricultural/pastoral, food production
  7. Springbound — seasonal celebration zone, festival grounds; location of Buster Bunny Training Academy (prototype scenario setting)
  8. Auroradepths — mystical underground, ancient power sources
  9. The Out of Bounds (OoB) — exile zone beyond habitable realms; chaotic, reality-bending; where original Embiggening was discovered/enhanced; quick entry/exit points exist; deep exploration risky but optional

Wonderwood (Alice & Red content) — fairy-tale-logic zone; size changes more extreme; mad logic NPCs; time/space work differently

Incomplete zone hook: Half-constructed candy theme park; builders vanished; current residents too afraid to traverse OoB for resources or relocate.

Historical Timeline

  1. Ancient Era — Buster Bunnies wielded Embiggening freely
  2. The Great Exile — powerful bunnies banished certain beings to the OoB
  3. The Docility Period — bunnies forgot/lost their powers over generations
  4. Dragon-Fairy Immigration — fairies settled in bunny zones
  5. The Return — an exiled bunny gained enhanced powers within OoB
  6. Current Crisis — Big's campaign; Zooey's accidental injury

Magic System: Embiggening

Five types: Amplify (Amp), Billow (Bellow), Cushion, Deluge, Embiggen

The Four Librarian Positions on Pafu-Pafu Hammers:

  1. Arby — pro-access, education-focused
  2. Anti-Hammer — fundamentally opposed
  3. Neutral — uses entirely different tools
  4. Need-Based Gatekeeper — pro-hammer only with proven societal need (foil to Arby)

Factions

  1. Bimbo Faction — Cushion + Amp; reclaiming "bimbo" as positive term
  2. Festive Faction — Bellow specialty; balloon decorations, celebration-themed challenges; connected to Alice
  3. Beach Faction — swimsuits instead of bunnysuits; offensive Deluge techniques

Candy Council — appears in the GUNS/HOLLOWROUND crossover context (representative at the DAC politician meeting during the Beast Balloon crisis)

Bunnysuits

Not secret identity tools — symbols of power and empowerment (Playboy Bunny aesthetic, superhero function). Wearing one as a show of force your body can't back up puts the wearer at risk. Getting a bunnysuit is a meaningful milestone.

Connection to HOLLOWROUND

The dungeon crawl format was partly chosen to give HOLLOWROUND something tractable to build around. Modular expansion (by faction, story arc, item/obstacle set) keeps individual releases focused. Bubblerap Phantasy is designed to stand alone regardless of HOLLOWROUND's status.
